Symptoms of Dengue
– Sudden high fever without any prior underlying infection. Fever may come down rapidly within 2-4 days, with severe sweating
– Severe headache
– Pain behind the eyes that increases with eye movement
– Nausea
– Vomiting
– Fatigue with a feeling of prostration
– Rashes which generally appear within 48 hours, mainly on the face and the limbs
– Mild bleeding either from the nose or from the gums
– Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and the groin
– Decreased heart rate, also known as tachycardia
– Low blood pressure
– Difficulty in breathing
The dengue mosquito commonly bite during daytime or before dusk.
Symptoms of Chikungunya:
– High fever that occurs as the body raises its temperature in an attempt to kill the infectious agent
– Severe joint pains experienced in the feet, ankle, wrists and hands with mild swelling as the virus destroys cells in the muscles and joints
– Severe back pain
– A headache with photophobia
– Muscle pain with fatigue
– Skin maculopapular rash that appears in the first 48 hours when the symptoms show up, generally on the torso, hands and feet
– Sore throat
– Eye pain with conjunctivitis
The major symptom of chikungunya includes excessive body pain,
swelling in the joints and rashes in several parts of the body.
In severe cases, the patient may suffer from body pain.
Swelling around hands and feet and red eyes are also quite common
Differences between Chikungunya and Dengue :
Though both the diseases are quite similar with matching symptoms, there some key differences between two.
In chikungunya, rashes appear on the torso and the arms while in dengue, they appear on the arms and the face.Joint pain in chikungunya is experienced in the hands,wrists, feet and legs, while in dengue it is experienced in the shoulders and the knees.
Malaria:Malaria is caused by the transmission of plasmodium into the body
by a female Anopheles mosquito. These mosquitoes generally bite at night.
Symptoms of Malaria:
Sporadic high fever with cough is the most common symptom of malaria. The fever comes and goes at regular intervals.
A person may have a high fever, followed by profuse sweating and chills and then the temperature starts to rise again.
The fever keeps on coming after 6-12 hours.
A person infected with malaria parasite may also complain about constipation, nausea and abdominal pain. Malaria may also lead to jaundice due to loss of red blood cells from the body
Prevention is the only way to keep yourself safe.

Wear loose-fitted clothesWear light coloured clothes

Burn some incense stick
Keep your surrounding clean
Remove standing water
